Coastal Brown Bears

Katmai National Park, Alaska

Come walk amongst Alaska’s coastal brown bears in North America’s final frontier. Katmai National Park is home to one of the last untouched habitats of these magnificent animals.

During the summer months, coastal brown bears gorge off of the bountiful Alaskan coasts: they dig for clams and mussels on beaches, forage for berries, graze in sedge grass fields, and fish for salmon who swim up glacial-fed rivers.

BEAR Expeditions offers the unique experience to have safe close encounters with these bears on foot. Led by Eric Nixon and Lianna Nixon, the father-daughter duo has acquired intimate knowledge of these incredible animals and their behaviors with over a decade of photography experience in Katmai National Park.

The team serves as an onboard resource to assist with field photography skills and also teaches post-production techniques on Adobe products such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve.

The privately chartered ship is designed to provide a comfortable stay while exploring Alaska’s coasts where no roads can reach, offering exclusive access for bear viewing and nature photography,

BEAR Expeditions is committed to facilitating this unique experience that captures the great wilderness of Alaska and the importance of keeping these natural areas wild.
